Hecatompylos Reemerges
In ancient Persia, during the Parthian era, Hecatompylos (City of one hundred Gates) was the capital city and the seat of government for the Parthian kings. The term "one hundred gates" is often used to refer to important cities which had more than five entrances.
A number factors maintained the historical continuation of the City.
A few we can name are: monuments some dating back to 7000 years ago such as Tapeh hessar, Cheshme Ali, Masjed Jameh (Friday Mosque), Masjed Tarikhane, etc...
The ancient silk road passed through this City.
Unique land conditions shape the environment of the City. On the north east the cloud forests of Mazandaran are special touristic areas to visit. On the south, the sand desert, with all its loneliness and vastness are there to be enjoyed.
Hecatompylos is situated 350 kilometers from Tehran and 650kms. from Mashhad, where Imam Reza (A/S) the 8th. Emam is enshrined. Imam Reza´s (A/S) shrine is the cause for 20million travelers passing by our City.
Our City can provide all the necessary amenities for the pilgrims and travelers. It is our intention to construct a City encompassing all modernity, but with its roots in the Parthian Empire. The aims of designers are to comply with all regulations applicable to a modern City. Providing the latest techniques will add to the comfort of its residents. Gardens, public parks, greeneries are all present in great numbers to make our City a green one.
